I consider the pulp painting process a language of self-expression.

The body of work “Palpable l'mpalpable series” began with a desire to explore the possibilities of an organic medium such as pulp. My creative approach is very similar to composing music. My notes are memories of my life experiences, explanations of where I am and where I have been. I attempt to observe the moments and record what makes them uniquely mine.

Pulp painting on canvas is a process of composing a memory of body vibrations. Similar to oral music and storytelling: fluid, always changing and evolving into something new.

I consider my body as an instrument. My abstract forms follow my respiratory circle, my hand wavelike motion in a state of conscious and unconscious. By accentuating shapes and structures I like to concentrate on the music spatiality and fluidity. Dried pulp is a recorded note and aid for remembering an idea, a life experience or a state of body-mind-spirit.
